226/365 – What Greek Drama is This?

Megan has some cute habits when she’s tired or sleeping.  She’ll revert into this childlike state, swatting the cares of the world away as she races towrds slumber and sweet dreams of Alton Brown . . . that hussy.  Alton Brown.  Not Megan.  He’s probably making her some tart while explaining the sweetness factor in comparison to their love . . . or something like that.  Tart.

See, Megan, he’ll give you crabs . . . oh, that’s a lobster? You win this round Mr. Brown.

In any case, sometimes she sleeps with her mouth wide open.  Sometimes she murmurs in her sleep.  If you’ve been reading this blog, you know that she always keeps a light on for me.  Our sleep schedules are drastically different.  She heads to bed around 9pm.  I head to bed around 11:30pm and stay up all night reading.  She’ll nuzzle up to me for a bit and then retreat to ger side of the bed while I read a comic or whatever nerd book I’m reafing at the moment (Song of Fire and Ice, Book 2, Clash Of Kings).

Goodnight moon.

Last night, when I got into bed, I got out my book, but before I started to read, I leaned over and gave her a peck on her cheek.  She smiled and said:

“Love you, mom.”

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . What?

Repeat:

“LOVE YOU, MOM.”

How do you reply to that?  Oh, that’s right, with, “What the fuck?”  She woke up and said, “Oh, god, I’m half asleep.  I’m sorry.”  There’s something incredibly unsettling about that.  Sure, it could be seen as sweet, but I’m her husband.  So I have to contend with Alston Brown and Megan’s mom.

So I ask you, what Greek drama is this?  That’s all I got to say about that.  The chorus will give you any details you need to know.

Oh god. Now I have this nightmare to contend with too?
