313/365 – Unpacking, Unpacking, Unpacking . . .

The absolute only way I’m ever going to help Megan feel acclimated is to get this damn apartment unpacked and in order.  It’s just sucks.  Really.  When you look at your new space, see all of your own possessions, all scattered around, in boxes and disorganized, it not only gives you a feeling of dread and anxiety, it gives you that feeling that you are soooooo close yet soooo far.  It also creates an atmosphere of tension.  Megan and I have been getting on each other’s nerves and getting this place feeling more like home is just a high step to cutting that nonsense out.

Hi, we brought you severed heads in boxes.  Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

I can see books, and clothes and DVDs . . . everything that says home, just lying about . . . which is the opposite of home.

Plus, I can’t remember what box I packed the baby in.

So, tonight, after work, my goal is to get at least 50% of this apartment unpacked and in order.  It will give both Megan and I some piece of mind.  Especially if we can fit everything in.  This place is smaller than our Chicago apartment and has much less storage space, so getting everything to fit may be a monumental task.

These people are 2 seconds away from killing each other.

But I’m up for the challenge.  See, right now, it’s so much more important to have a happy wife and a feeling that we have a place in this city than going out or working on projects.  This has to be done.  So I’m signing off.  I’ll report back in the morning.
